Type


• Upright: These freezers are usually more convenient when it come to organizing and accessing your food. Uprights offer more shelves and door bins for organization, and do not require the deep reach that some chest freezers will in order to reach the food at the bottom.
  
  
• Chest: These freezers hold more food than upright freezers. In addition, they are less costly to operate than an upright freezer.
Additional Features


• Temperature Alarm: This feature will alert you if your freezer is not functioning properly or if the door is left open causing the temperature to rise.
  
  
• Lockable Doors: If the freezer is located in a public area this may be a feature worth considering.
  
  
• Lighting: If you prefer lighting in the freezer, make sure you ask about this feature as many freezers do not have this option.
  
  
• Exterior Digital Readout: This feature conveniently displays the temperature of the freezer.
  
  
• Self Defrosting Freezer: This feature conveniently defrosts the freezer without having to remove the food from the freezer. On the downside, food in self defrosting freezers has a tendency to get freezer burned more quickly.
